Emily Mallon is a multimedia journalist with a passion for Korean entertainment. As the creator and host of the K-pop Weekly Podcast, she brings a blend of music reviews, interviews, and more to her global audience. Prior to her current show, Emily did a three-year stint as the producer and co-host of the NYC Kpop Queens podcast. During this time, the show reached listeners in 199 countries and territories, securing the distinction of being in the top 10% of globally shared podcasts.
Emily's career includes over 150 published bylines, showcasing her versatility as a music journalist. Her portfolio is comprised of music reviews, news, and insightful pieces like the History of K-pop for NBC. Driven by the belief that music is the universal language, she is dedicated to promoting international content to a broad audience.
Beyond professional pursuits, Emily advocates for women's empowerment through volunteerism. She currently sits on the board for Women in Music's Los Angeles chapter. Before contributing her skills to the WIM LA membership team, Emily led membership efforts for the Junior League of Pittsburgh. Through her volunteer work, she hopes to make a meaningful impact on women's lives, showcasing a deep commitment to creating a more inclusive and supportive world.
A lifelong music enthusiast, Emily's journey began while dancing to disco and R&B records with her family in Pittsburgh, PA. While she spent most of her adult life in New York City, she has recently embraced a new chapter in Los Angeles. When not immersed in K-pop, Emily enjoys spending time with her pomeranian, Freddy Krueger, hiking, and attending as many concerts as possible.
